Tarangire

Tarangire National Park is named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park throughout the year makes it the only permanent source of water during the dry season. Therefore from July to September it is a good time to visit as the animals from the park and surrounding game controlled areas gathered to Tarangire river.

The range of geographic features in Tarangire is awesome. Hills, river bends, woodlands and savanna at it’s best. Area around river is dominated by huge baobab trees, oldest of them has seen river flowing for over two thousand years.  As well they have fed largest herds of elephants in northern Tanzania. Enormous 50 km long Silale swamp is a sight you can´t forget.

Tarangire has everything in relatively small area with an easy access and strikingly beautiful landscape, so keep it in mind when planning your northern circuit safari.
